5 firms shortlisted for consideration as Project Management Consultants for JICA-assisted biodiversity and forest management project

GANGTOK, 06 Feb: The Forest Department has received 19 proposals from interested organisations to its call inviting “expressions of interest” as “Project Management Consultants” for the JICA-assisted Sikkim Biodiversity Conservation and Forest Management Project [SBFP]. The notice inviting expressions of interest was reportedly published in a national daily and two websites on 10 May 2010. Following the receipt of 19 proposals, the Department had constituted a committee to evaluate the firms which has shortlisted five firms, these are:
1. GITEC, Consult Gm (L), Germany ICNET, Japan JPS Associated (P) Ltd., Delhi
2. Nippon KOEI Co. Ltd., Japan, Nippon KOEI India Pvt. Ltd.
3. The Louis Berger Group INC, USA, Padeco Co. Ltd., Japan
4. NJS Engineers, India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, NJS Japan, Agri-consulting S.P.A. Italy
5. GTZ-IS, New Delhi (L), Germany, TMI-India (P)
A press communiqué received from the SBFP Joint Director, BP Pradhan, informs that all the firms have been issued Request for Proposal documents following approval received from JICA and have been given 45 days to respond. The pre-bid meeting, participated by all these firms, the Joint Director informs, was held on 06 Oct 2010.
