CM interacts with youth of Namthang-Rateypani

NAMTHANG, 07 Feb [IPR]: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling met with the youth of Namthang-Rateypani constituency at the Namthang Block Development Centre yesterday. Around 200 youth were present in the short interactive programme during which Mr. Chamling was felicitated by the youth representatives of the constituency for his support and motivation towards the development of the youth of Sikkim.
Addressing the youth, the Chief Minister said that the biggest disadvantage compromising the prospects of the youth was their own state of dilemma and indecisiveness regarding their choices in life and stressed that this drawback is preyed up by vested interests to misguide the youth into promoting personal gain of the opportunists.
Mr. Chamling added that for this reason, it was now his aim to make the youth constructive, skilled, self-reliant and above all, aware citizens. Sikkim, he stressed, was in need of youth with a wider outlook who could steer the State towards a better tomorrow.
Towards this aim, the State Government has implemented youth-oriented schemes for skill and capacity development. The government has also ensured that through these schemes, the youth are able to utilize the ample opportunities created in the State in different sectors.
He also urged the youth not to allow antisocial elements to take advantage of their weaknesses for personal gain and take a strong stand against such opportunism.
