NHPC organizes medical and eye-care camp at Rang-Rang



GANGTOK, 01 Feb:
The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, a government of India enterprise, organized a one-day free medical and eye-care camp at Rang-Rang in North Sikkim on 29 January, 2011. This camp, hosted at the Govt. Junior High School campus, an NHPC press release informs, was part of the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Development activities.
The camp was inaugurated by Padam Singh, President, Mangshila Block, in the presence of TKR Naga, Chief Medical Officer, NHPC Ltd, and other senior NHPC officials.
A team of NHPC doctors comprising of Dr. SK Das, ACMO & Eye specialist; Dr. Dipankar Deb, ACMO, Dr. Santosh Kumar, SMO, Dr. Anita Lakra, and a team of paramedics attended to the patients on Saturday.
A total of 206 patients were examined and free medicines released. While 131 general patients were examined, those requiring eye check-ups numbered 75. 52 patients with refractive errors were prescribed glasses.
