Two 16-year-olds lost to suicides in unrelated incidents


NAMCHI Two cases of suicide were reported Tuesday from the South District where two young persons, a boy and a girl, ended their lives in unrelated incidents.
In the first case reported from Namchi bazaar, a 16-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself with the help of ‘dupatta’. The deceased was a school dropout and was working as a labourer, while his father eked out a living as a street vendor. The boy committed suicide at home at around 11 a.m.
The second suicide of the day for South district was reported from Chisopani near Jorethang where a girl, also 16 year old, committed suicide by hanging at her home in Berbotey Chisopani.
Even she was a school dropout, and was reportedly in a disturbed state of mind for the past many days.
