Starting with a few, we hope soon, everyone will make this day as popularly as Valentine’s Day or Friendship Day,” said Karun K Pradhan of SGSS who is also the man behind taking this “message of a happy day for Sikkim and the world” to the next level.
“We were sitting one day and asking ourselves how we could give back something to the world in a positive way and in the process create something which was unique to Sikkim, something that its people are giving back to the world,” he shares, while informing that the world-over people are celebrating various reasons on different days to express themselves.
While mentioning that if the idea catches momentum, in the near future, Sikkim could become the capital of the “Happiness Day Celebrations,” Mr. Pradhan adds, “Our wish is to see that one day we are able to look back and say we gave the world a day when they could find their own ways to be happy, experiment different ways to feel happiness and share it with everyone.”
“Let’s be the brand ambassadors and spread the message associated with this day throughout. Let Happiness from Sikkim flow throughout the world, a day when everyone keeps their differences aside and concentrates only on being happy. I am sure one day people throughout the world will say, ‘let’s go to Sikkim this April to celebrate Happiness Day’,” expresses Mr. Pradhan.
Mr. Pradhan also suggests that people here could also make this day the launch of a prosperous season.
“The business establishments could announce special schemes to mark the day, celebrating joy and happiness. This may just be a dreamer’s way of seeing things, but what I believe is that every big thing has small beginnings,” he explains.
So, if you want to contribute to this dream of developing 04 April as Happiness Day, start the day by making someone happy by text messaging that much delayed “sorry” or “thank you”.
