Singtam Baibiyalo felicitates Bijayata Baraily, introduces talent from Chaujachen-Dalapchand


SINGTAM, 25 April: The 33rd edition of the Singtam Basibiyalo featured the felicitation of actress Bijayata Baraily for her “marvellous performance” in her debut film, “Angalo Yo Maya Ko”. The Basibiyalo met at the community hall here on Sunday. A colourful cultural program saw performers from Singtam, Chujachen and students of Upper Dalapchand Secondary School entertaining the crowds.
Singtam Basibiyalo has become a well received and well attended monthly event at Singtam. Performers from different corners of the state aspire to participate and perform in it.
Mohan Pradhan “Neeraj”, speaking on the occasion yesterday, thanked all members and well wishers for supporting him and his Singtam Basibiyalo.

TB Pradhan, advisor, Singtam Basibiyalo, highlighted that this platform for performing artists was open to all individuals and groups who wanted to share their talent.
The occasion also saw the release of Poonam Tamang’s Nepali music album, “Man ko  Chahana”  by RK Sundas, SDPO Rangpo, RK Pradhan, president Sikkim Newar Sangathan, Bijayata Baraily and members of Singtam Nagar Panchayat.
Poonam Tamang, a resident of Chujachen recorded her audio album in Nepal. She also performed one her songs on Sunday.
Students of Upper Dalapchand SS, performing at Singtam for the first time, presented a Nepali folk dance performed to the song, “Manjari”. The dancers were Roda Gurung, Prava Sharma, Deepshika Pradhan, Pranita Pradhan, Nar Maya Gurung, Anjana Tamang, Bidhya Rai, Soyeta Gurung and Karishma Gurung.
Mona Chamling of Chujachen treated the audience to a popular Nepali song of Kunti Moktan, while two teenaged singers, Divya Rai and Renu Chettri, also from Dalapchand, enthralled the hall with their mellifluous voices.
