Royal Challenger’s Mangan lift Vodafone Championship Trophy


MANGAN, 22 May: The 1st Vodafone Championship Trophy Cricket Tournament (VCTCT), organized by Royal Challengers Cricket Club (RCCC) of Mangan in North Sikkim was lifted by the host team yesterday.
Royal Challenger’s took on Kangaroo Boys [Dikchu] in the final match played at Mangan Public Ground and won by 35 runs. The Mangan team scored 165 runs in 20 overs. 44 teams had participated from all over the district.

RCM bagged the trophy and the winner’s kitty of Rs. 10,000 sponsored by the Vodafone Associate Distributor, Manoj Kumar Gupta while the runner’s up received a trophy and Rs. 8,000 in cash sponsored by the organising committee. Tokens were also handed over to the man of the tournament, man of the match and best wicket keeper sponsored by the people of Mangan.
All members of the teams which clashed in the final match were also given lifetime Vodafone sim-cards sponsored by Vodafone.
The final had Mangan Nagar Panchayat president, Karma Jigdal Bhutia, as chief guest accompanied by Councillor PK Malu, Vodafone Associate Distributor (N), MK Gupta and senior citizens of the district headquarter town.
