NE Accountant Generals meet for midterm review of CAG Reports

GANGTOK, 13 June [IPR]: A two-day workshop, “Mid-term review on Report of Comptroller & Auditor General of India for North-Eastern states”, began here at the Chintan Bhavan today. Accountant Generals from all the eight North-eastern states are attending the workshop. The workshop has been organised by the Accountant General, Sikkim, and is being presided over by Additional Deputy C&AG of India, Rajib Sharma.
The AG, Sikkim, Dinesh Bhagata, in his welcome address, gave an outline of the aims and objectives of the workshop and expressed hope that the deliberations will lead to “meaningful conclusions and help in further improving the quality of the Audit Report”.
The Addl. Deputy C&AG of India, in his inaugural address, apprised the participants on the importance of holding this seminar and stressed that the opportunity of this mid-term review should be utilised for bringing out a more contemporary and meaningful Audit Report, “rich in content and quality”.The participants deliberated on key strategic issues relating to Audit Reports having bearing on good governance especially with regards to Elementary Education and land acquisition among other issues.
