Dentam trains masons for CMRHM constructions

GANGTOK, 08 Aug: A one-day orientation training was organized for masons at the Dentam Block Administrative Centre to familiarize them with the process of constructing pucca houses under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission [CMRHM].
The Dentam BDO, Himmat Rai, informs that the training was organized as a follow-up to points discussed at the District Vigilance & Monitoring Committee meeting held at Gyalshing on 26 July.
The proposal for the mandatory orientation of masons to be engaged in CMRHM was put forward by the District Collector (West) at the said meeting to ensure quality work and completion within the stipulated time of six months, Mr. Rai explains.

The orientation training was attended by the masons who are to be engaged for CMRHM constructions at Maneybong Sopakha GPU, Supervisors from RM&DD, GRS, Barefoot Engineers, Rural Development Assistants, Panchayat Inspector-Dentam BAC and the BDO.
In his address, the BDO stressed that masons needed to ensure that quality work was carried out as per the specifications and within the projected timeframe.
Hari Tamang, Assiantant Engineer and Tenzing Lachungpa, Junior Engineer, detailed all aspects of constructions under CMRHM.
Engineers from the BAC will be visiting the sites as often as required and the masons and beneficiaries of the scheme were urged to contact the engineers at the CMRHM Cell at the BAC over the phone at any time if felt necessary.
In addition, departmental supervisors, barefoot engineers, GRS, RDAs will be providing multi-level supervision for the constructions and update the CMRHM Cell.
The BAC has issued 85 allotment orders for the construction of pucca houses under the scheme in the first lot.
