STDC promotes Sikkim at Geneva Festival in Switzerland

GANGTOK, 10 Aug: The Geneva Festival was inaugurated on 05 August by Chitra Narayanan, Ambassador of India, and Sri Phillippe, Mayer Director International Affairs Department. The inauguration was followed by a seminar on Tourism Exchange between India and Europe - “Sealing New Heights” - at International Hotel, Geneva, Switzerland.
The programme was attended by dignitaries from International Tourism Services, tour operators from India and Switzerland and the Tourism Ministers of Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. NK Subba, Chairman and Samten Dolma, Chief Executive Officer, of Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation re representing Sikkim at the Festival, informs a press release. 

Brochures and CDs were presented to the chief guest during her visit to Sikkim’s stall. The team from Sikkim also appraised about various upcoming destinations of Sikkim. They highlighted the tourism potential of Sikkim to all the visitors to the stall and the tour operators seeking to establish an international market for Sikkim tourism. The Cultural Heritage Department also presented Yak and Singhi dances at the Festival.
The Festival will continue till 14 August, the release adds.
