Gurung Sangh condoles earthquake devastation

GANGTOK, 26 Sept: A condolence meeting of the Akhil Sikkim Gurung (Tamu) Boudha Sangh was convened on 23 Sept at its office here at DPH Road chaired by its president, HB Gurung.
The meeting prayed for the lives lost to the earthquake and extended its deepest condolences to the affected families, informs a press release issued by the publicity secretary, Kamal Gurung.
Meanwhile, the release further informs that on demand from the community, yet another Gurung Language class has been started at Tingley under Nathang-Rateypani constituency from 18 Sept. The class is being conducted by Chandra Gurung at a private school from 4 to 6 in the evenings everyday and is being run under in-charge Prahlad Gurung and DB Gurung. At present the class has 27 students from Tingley, Chuba, Parbing, Namchi and Mangley.
The Sangh has appealed the Gurung Language teachers appointed at schools to start similar classes.
