Lakshya’s Dr. Radhakrishnan Teacher’s Award for Kitam School’s Yomima Bhutia

NAMCHI, 06 Sept: Teachers’ Day-cum-Conferral of Dr. Radhakrishnan Teachers’ Award 2011, instituted by Lakshya Organisation, a Lower Kitam based NGO, was organized at Lower Kitam School premises today.
Yomima Bhutia of Kitam Secondary School was conferred with the Dr. Radhakrishnan Teachers’ Award 2011. A certificate of honour, a memento along with cash award was presented by Zilla Panchayat member, Mickkhola Kitam & Sorok Shyampani territorial unit, Buddha Tamang, who was present as chief guest of the programme.
Lakshya instituted the award in the year 2010 in a move to recognize “commendable, innovative and good teaching practices” by teachers of Kitam Secondary  School complex.
This year’s award was given in the Primary Teachers category adjudged by the Award’s Selection Committee. The chief guest appreciated the initiative and assured to work for the development of primary education system in the district.
The awardee teacher, Ms. Bhutia extended her gratitude and promised to keep trying her best to teach well and support efforts aimed towards the overall development of the education system and students.
General Secretary cum CEO, Lakshya, Roshan Kaushik, in his address spoke on the significance of the day and about the award instituted by Lakshya.
The programme was also addressed by Headmaster, Lower Kitam Primary School, PB Rai, Meghraj Sharma, Naren Chhetri, while Deepak Sharma presented the biography of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
