Rs. 39,680 lakh: Deptt’s projection to restore Sikkim roads

GANGTOK, 20 Sept: The Roads & Bridges Department, following an inspection and survey of damages to State roads caused by the Sunday evening earthquake and the landslides it triggered, has projected a tentative cost of Rs. 39,680 lakh to complete restoration works.
A press communiqué received from the IPR Department informs that the Roads & Bridges Department has already mobilized manpower and machinery for the restoration of all roads in order to facilitate and speed up rescue and relief operations.
Efforts to make all the affected roads motorable is being undertaken in a phased manner with emphasis on the State Highways and major districts roads, the release informs.
Only restoration of temporary nature is being taken up on war-footing, it is informed.

  2. Very Very Good Calculations. With 39,680 Lacs in hand, could we all Indian Citizens pls be 1st Given the % age Break-up. The Balance off course will be utilized in Making Roads.
