Evangelical Presbyterian Church team visits relief camps in Lower Dzongu

GANGTOK, 29 Sept: A relief team of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Tadong, led by Elder TB Rai visited relief camps set up in the earthquake affected villages of Gor, Sagyong and Santok in Lower Dzongu on 27 Sept, a press release informs.
At Santok, the team was informed of two people to were killed in a landslide triggered by the earthquake. The following day, the team visited Berfok, Toong-Rongong under Berfok GPU. There, the team learned that two persons were buried in a landslide and that their dead bodies had not been recovered yet, informs a press release.
They also noticed that the small hamlets around Toong-Rongong remain completely cut off from each other due to the massive landslides.
The team, apart from reaching relief materials, also delivered updates on the government’s continuous efforts in relief and rescue works. They also extended their condolences to the affected families and provided them solace by trying to convince them not to continue to live in fear of such calamities, the release adds.
