SDF forms constituency-level committees to monitor project implementation

GANGTOK, 17 Oct: A meeting of senior SDF party workers was convened today at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of senior vice-president, KB Chamling, informs a press release issued by the general secretary [publicity], TN Sharma.
The meeting, as directed by the SDF party president, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, that all the sanctioned projects and the ongoing schemes be inspected, decided on the formation of specific committees for the task for each constituency in East District.
It was decided that Somnath Poudyal head the committee for the Khamdong-Singtam constituency, DP Kharel for West Pendam, JK Bhandari for Rhenock, KB Chamling for Chuchachen, Karma Ongmu Bhutia for Nathang- Machong, Kuber Chandra Rai for Namchebong, Mingma Sherpa for Syari, DT Lepcha for Martam- Rumtek, Mohan Dungmali for Upper Burtuk, Basant Lamichaney for Arithang, Manita Pradhan for Gangtok and Madan Chettri for Upper Tadong.  
It was resolved that the committees work with party representatives from all ward, block, constituency and the district levels and communicate their appraisals to the party president at the earliest, the release informs.
The committees have also been tasked with the responsibility to spread awareness on the cooperative movement and secure progress assessment of these projects and schemes, the release adds.
The meeting was attended by party vice-presidents DT Lepcha, DP Kharel, Somnath Poudyal, East District party president, JK Bhandari, party general secretaries, Mohan Dungmali, Kuber Rai, Basant Lamichaney, Satish Chandra Rai, party convener, Karma Ongmu Bhutia, party officials, Tsenam Lama and Dhanmaya Sharma.
