GANGTOK, 18 Oct: The tremor of Monday evening which was felt with severe intensity in parts of South and West Sikkim, causing some amount of panic in Ravangla, has been detected as having had its epicenter in the vicinity of Damthang above Temi in South Sikkim. As per details posted on the Meteorological Centre of India, this was a mild earthquake of 3.5 intensity and had struck exactly at 6:34 p.m. The epicenter coordinates of 27.3 degrees North [latitude] and 88.4 degree East [longitude] locates it in the vicinity of Damthang.
