NYK to conduct National Integration camp at Singtam

GANGTOK, 27 Nov: Nehru Yuva Kendra [NYK] Gangtok Zonal Office is conducting a six-day long National Integration Camp at Bihari Bhawan Hall, Singtam from 29 November to 04 December.
The main objective of the camp is to create an opportunity and platform for young participants from different parts of the country to interact and learn in an environment of mutual love and respect in order to understand and appreciate people living in different parts of the country, informed the District Youth Coordinator [DYC], Puran Chettri, in a press meet held today in the NYK Office here.
Twenty participants each from Jammu Kashmir, Jharkhand, Bihar, Meghalaya, Assam and Sikkim are taking part in the camp along with ten participants each from Namchi, Mangan and Gyalshing.
The DYC informed that the camp will help in understanding the demographic profile and issues related to development and youth empowerment; duties and responsibilities of a citizen; understanding threats and challenges posed by forces with reference to communism, separation, terrorism and especially the role of youth in promotion of peace, harmony, unity and integration.
The camp will also include multi cultural show, exhibition, interaction with renowned personalities, cultural rally and other activities in-and-around the venue. It was also mentioned that, every year the NYK conducts the National Integration Camp programme here in the state.
The camp is scheduled to be formally inaugurated by the RMDD Minister, CB Karki, accompanied by the area MLA, Am Prasad Sharma, it was informed.
