GANGTOK, 20 Nov: The Earthquake Victims Relief Committee, Pakyong, contributed Rs 1,49,500 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
A press release informs that in a meeting held at Pakyong today, the president of the committee, BB Subba, informed that the two drafts, of Rs 1,11,000 and Rs 38,500 have been submitted to the Chief Minister.
On behalf of the Committee, the president has extended gratitude to all the donors who contributed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
According to the release, a total of 24 groups have contributed in the relief fund whose names with the amount they donated are; Puran Samiti Pakyong Rs 30,000, Principal & staff St. Xavier’s School Pakyong Rs. 25,000, Deep Jyoti Sangh Dikling Daragaon Rs. 15,000, Marwari Samaj Pakyong Bazaar Rs. 13,500/-, Sikkim Pratibha Pratisthan Pakyong Rs. 12,870/-, Bihari Jagarn Manch Pakyong Rs. 10, 650/-, New Market Development Committee Pakyong Rs 5,000/-, Punj Llyod Limited Pakyong Rs 5,000/-, AE & staff Building & Housing Rs 4,900/-, Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya Pakyong Rs 4,030/-, Horticulture Department Pakyong Rs 3,000/-, Sri Satya Sai Sewa Samiti Pakyong Rs 3,000/-, Principal & Staffs Puspanjali School Rs 2,100/-, Agriculture Department Pakyong Rs 2,100/-, HM & staff Pachey Samsing Primary School Rs 2,000/-, Headmaster & staff Pakyong Bazaar Junior High School Rs 1,550/-, OC & staff special branch Pakyong Rs 1,500/-, Principal & staff Mamring senior secondary school Pakyong Rs 1,500/-, HM & staff Aho Shanti secondary school Rs 1,450/-, HM & staff Pacheykhani secondary school Rs 1,250/-, HM & staff Linkey secondary school Rs 1,100/-, AE BAC Pakyong Rs 1,000/-, Food Inspector Pakyong Rs 1,000/- and HM & staff Dugalakha Junior High school Rs 1,000/-.
The meeting was attended by Advisor of the Earthquake Victims Relief Committee Pakyong, PL Basnett, Financial Advisor, Tika Gurung, General Secretary, Hari Rizal, Coordinator, DR Gurung, Publicity secretary, CL Dulal, President and vice president, Bihari Jagaran manch Pakyong, Subash Gupta and Usman Sheik, the release informs.
The committee consists of State Planning Commission Member, JK Bhandari as the Patron, former Zilla Adhyaksha East District, PN Kazi and PK Subba as the advisors and DB Gurung as the general secretary.
