5 SPA paragliders trained on first aid


GANGTOK, 11 Dec: With ‘safe flight’ as their primary motto, the Sikkim Paragliding Association [SPA] taking a conscious step towards providing their clients with all safety measures had 5 pilots of the Association go through basic training on First Aid on 07 Dec at STNM hospital, informs a press release.

Senior doctor and Orthopedic surgeon, STNM, Dr Dewan briefed the 5 pilots on the immediate measures to be taken in case of any casualties during a flight. The basic techniques including airway management, breathing, transportation of injured ones, immediate measures in case of bleeding etc were taught to the pilots, the release informs.

“We want each of our pilots and members trained on dealing with unexpected and contingency plans for emergencies. Each of them will be trained to offer basic care on minor health issues” expressed CP Pradhan, General Secretary, SPA, according to the release.
