ADC leads inspection of developmental works under Temi Tarku block


GANGTOK, 06 Dec: The Additional District Collector (Dev.), South District, along with BDO Temi and other officials inspected various works being under taken under Temi Tarku block on 05 Nov, informs a press release.

A site located near Mangley fatak at lower Tanak was inspected for the proposed Kisan Bazar along with revenue surveyors from the Land Revenue Department. The proposal is to be submitted to the government for further consideration, the release informs.
The officials also inspected pucca houses being constructed at various places under the BAC. ADC, Dev., South expressed satisfaction over the progress of work and instructed the BDO to carry out proper technical monitoring of the work.
During the inspection, construction work of two houses were found to be dissatisfactory and the ADC directed that a technical expert from the BAC be sent immediately for inspection of these works and added that work would continue only after the technical verification, the release mentions.
Thus far, a total of 115 pucca houses under CMRHM have been commissioned under Temi-Tarku BAC out of which 10 houses are ready to be handed over to the beneficiaries. The area MLA Temi-Namphing, BS Panth had handed out the allotment order to 18 beneficiaries and the first and second installment of cheques to the beneficiaries whose work are already in progress in various stages on 02 Dec at a function held at BAC Temi Tarku.
The officials also met the beneficiaries, panchayats and local people and informed them that the scheme under CMRHM is an ambitious project and that Sikkim is the only state in India which provides such benefits to the people.
The release also informs that beneficiaries and panchayats were informed about the decision of the government to grant a house with slab roofing at a total estimated cost of Rs. 4,87,000 out of which government grant in aid will be Rs. 4,00,000, land development work under MGNREGA upto Rs. 50,000 and the remaining amount of Rs. 37,000 has been removed as they account for contractor profit, VAT/Sales Tax etc. which are not applicable in this case, as the construction is done by the beneficiaries themselves with assistance from the Block Rural Housing Construction Committee (BRHCC) constituted under the Chairmanship of the Area MLA.
Among other works, the community hall being constructed at Thangsing under the MPLAD fund was also inspected. This project was sanctioned during the recent village-to-village tour of the CM.
The team also visited the school ground being developed for Bermiok Sr. Sec School under MGNREGA in convergence with the funds provided by the school management committee. The officials met with the panchayats, school management committee and locals and briefed the committee about the progress of work and future plans, the release adds.
After completion, the play ground is expected to be converted to a full size football ground. During the last financial year also a ground was constructed for Temi Sr. Sec School which had been converted to a full sized football ground from a seven side ground under convergence of MGNREGA, Panchayat fund, PYKA and School Management Committee with assistance provided by the CM.
Similarly several other play grounds were taken up under MGNREGA at Temi BAC. The team also inspected a jeepable road being constructed at Tarku also under MGNREGA and expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work, the release further adds.
