Pakyong’s Bishal Pradhan wins Strong Man contest in Kalimpong

GANGTOK, 02 Jan: Bishal Pradhan of Pakyong has won the Strong Man competition held in Kalimpong on 29 Jan 2011. Bishal lifted the ‘Strongest Man of Kalimpong’ title beating 40 other contestants in the Power Lifting competition held as part of the Darjeeling Tea and Tourism Festival.

The power lifting competition comprised of bench press and squat; in the former contest, Bishal broke the record [of 130 kg] by lifting 170 kgs!
In squat, Bishal lifted 180 kgs.
Talking to NOW!, Bishal expressed his gratitude towards Krishna Medical Stores, MG Marg, Gangtok and Amar ‘Bhai’, his ‘supplements guru’. He also expressed thanks towards his wife and father and towards Thukchuk Lachungpa for inspiring him.
He is now preparing to participate in the North East Power Lifting Competition scheduled to be held in May this year.
