US Consular Officer to explain Visa procedures


GANGTOK, 19 Feb: Consular Officer, Jessica B. Pfleiderer, accompanied by officials from the U.S. Consulate General, Kolkata will visit Darjeeling (WB) from 20 to 22 February, Gangtok (Sikkim) from 22 to 24 February and Siliguri (WB) from 24 to 25 February to provide information on visa procedures and provide limited services for U.S. citizens.
A press release issued by the US Consulate General, Kolkata informs that the visiting Consular team will host public information sessions on the requirements to apply for U.S. visas.  The sessions will cover non-immigrant tourist, business, student and exchange visitor visas.  Attendees will learn who is eligible for non-immigrant visas to the United States and receive information about application procedures, the release mentions.
The team will be giving a presentation on Student Visa at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences here in Gangtok on 24 Feb at 11 AM. Visiting Consular Officers will also offer limited services for U.S. citizens, like U.S. passport renewal and single page notary services on 24 Feb from 8 30 AM to 10 AM at Hotel Norkhill, Palzor Stadium Road, Gangotk.
The release further informs that fees for services should be paid by demand draft favoring “American Consulate General, Kolkata” payable in Kolkata and must have the MICR code printed on it.  U.S. citizens are requested to present their U.S. passports to avail of any services.
