USFC hoping for a decent debut


GANGTOK, 05 Oct: Bhaichung’s United Sikkim Football Club [USFC] is ready to take on Salgaocar SC in its debut match of the senior division I-League 2012-13 at Paljor Stadium tomorrow.
Addressing a press conference, USFC coach, Philippe De Rider said that the club has qualified for this senior division I-League for the first time so the club will give its best to survive in the I-League. He stated that the club has some new players and is hoping for a decent start in the I-League.
Mr Rider said that tomorrow’s match against Salgaocar SC is very important for the club to see where the club stands and to check the level of the club.
Although the club went down 0-3 to Salgaocar SC in the recent Federation Cup, USFC is prepared with renewed spirit to give a good fight in the first home match, he said. Playing on home ground with support from the crowd will help the club to perform better tomorrow, he further added.
USFC player, Nim Tshering Lepcha mentioned that the team is in good form and in high spirits to give a good performance. The club’s prime focus is on winning every match, he said.
Likewise, another player, Michael Rodríguez expressed that the club is all set and prepared to give a good fight. USFC has welcomed the local people to come and cheer for the home team in their matches.
