Sikkim pugilist bags bronze in National championship

GANGTOK, 30 Nov: Four women of the Sikkim State Boxing Association [SSBA] participated in the 13th Senior National Women Boxing Championship 2012, held at Guwahati from 25 to 29 November. The team was led by the Deputy Director for Sports and Youth Affairs Department [SYA], Jaslal Pradhan.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Pradhan informed that the events were tough, and although the Sikkim team could not bag a gold, Roshni Subba won the bronze for Sikkim in the fly weight event held on 27 November.
These four women boxers are very competitive and have bagged many medals in different events held in the country till now, said Mr Pradhan.
Likewise, bronze medallist, Roshni Subba expressing her happiness over the win said that the medal is for SSBA and the state. She also thanked Mr Pradhan for inspiring and helping her to reach where she is today.
