Founder of Bethesda Church-Sawney ordained as pastor

GANGTOK, 26 Sept: Bethesda Christian Church of Sikkim, Sawney, West Pendam organized an Ordination Ceremony at the Church on 25 September.
As per a press release, founder of the Church, Elder Chandra Prakash Rai, who is currently working in the Forest & Wildlife Department, was ordained as a Pastor by Rev. Dr. Samuel Lepcha of Shilo Church, Singtam and Rev. Daniel Berdeo of Himalayan Christian Fellowship Church, Monsung, Kalimpong in the presence of 30 Pastors, elders of different churches of Sikkim & Kalimpong area and villagers of Sawney.
The programme started with the opening prayer by Pastor Mojesh Tamang, master of ceremony was Indira Lepcha while the welcome speech was given by Church secretary Peter Lepcha. The word of god for the ordination was presented by Rev. Daniel Berdeo while the oath taking ceremony was executed by Rev. Samuel Lepcha. The ordination ceremony ended with vote of thanks by Hem Kumar Gurung and closing prayers by Pastor Philoman Rai.
The newly ordained Pastor CP Rai has so far worked for many social causes and extensively served the people on passing god’s messages in Singtam and West Pendam area. He opened Sapley Church and Adarsh Gaon Church at Singtam which comes under the Bethesda Christian Church of Sikkim, Sawney which was established in 1997.
Also present on the occasion were former Panchayat President, Lokmaya Silal along with Bhupal Das Rai.
