Training on pest management held for farmers from Lingmoo and Mangzing

 LINGMOO, 23 Sept: Training on pest diseases management was conducted here at Lingmoo, South Sikkim on 21 September. The training was organized by Sresta Natural Bio-products Pvt. Ltd. under ICS Service Provider Sikkim Organic Mission.
The programme started with the welcome address by Field Manager followed by a brief introduction of the programme by Project Manager, Deepak Gautam. The programme was attended by the concerned panchayats, VLW, HI, farmers and the company officials.
The resource person of the training, Dr. Raghunath (Principal Scientist) highlighted on the treatment and precautionary measures to be undertaken through the application of organic pesticides. Samples of diseased crops brought from the field were exhibited by the scientist who taught farmers how to treat them. Dr. Raghunath also demonstrated the preparation of organic pesticides.
Similar training was also held at Mangzing, South Sikkim in the second session of the day. The training which started from 19 September will continue till 27 September and will cover 31 different blocks of South and East Sikkim, informed the organizers. A similar programme was also conducted at Upper Mangzing.
