Holy Cross School donates Rs 3.19 lakh to HelpAge India

GANGTOK, 30 Oct: The Principal of Holy Cross School, Tadong, Sr. Celine Antony, along with Vice Principal, Sr. Lissy Mathew, teachers and students handed over Rs. 3,19,026 to Urmi Manna [Manager – RM of HelpAge India, Kolkata, NE & Sikkim region].
A press release informs that the amount was collected by the students from Classes IV-XII and will be used by HelpAge India for the Ration and Clothes distribution to around 55 beneficiaries in-and-around Gangtok. These beneficiaries were identified by the HelpAge India team.
Ms. Manna thanked the school after receiving the amount and assured the money will only go for the welfare of the older persons of Sikkim region, the release adds.
HelpAge India is the only registered national Non-Governmental Organisation working for the development and welfare of older persons. The other programme undertaken by the organisation includes livelihood programme, counselling, advocacy programme, etc. The introduction of Mobile Medical Van is also in the plan for the future.
