Perbing Dovan lines up slew of events to encourage young talents

NAMCHI, 22 Oct: Perbing Dovan Himalchuli Club and Nari Kalyan Sanstha held a coordination meeting today to discuss various agendas for the development of Perbing Dovan village. During the meeting it was decided that instead of having two registered organizations/ bodies in the same ward the registration number of Nari Kalyan Sanstha which is 751 Vol. No. I will be commonly used for both the organizations.
Different branches and committees namely cultural sector, games and sports sector, education sector and children’s club were formed in the meeting. The meeting also decided to recruit Discipline In-charge in the village.
To encourage budding talents in the village, the gathering present in the meeting resolved to prepare an annual calendar every year, according to which various competitions will be conducted for the children in various fields like games and sports, essay writing, elocution and speech, debate, quiz, painting and arts and so on. In this connection, Sunday class for the children of the locality also started from last Sunday i.e. 20 October. The Sunday class would help children with their studies prior to examinations and also impart moral education.
On the auspicious occasion of upcoming Diwali festival the sanstha/club have decided to organize a brief programme which will be held every year from this year onwards. The winners of the competitions will be awarded during this programme. Awards will also be presented to local residents like ‘Successful and Peaceful Family Award’, ‘Helpful and Dedicated Family Award’, ‘Neat and Clean Family Award’ and so on.
The meeting passed a resolution that every individual should participate and contribute in making their village a tobacco and alcohol free, gambling free and anti-social element free village. The sanstha will felicitate those children of their village who emerge as winners at the District Level, State Level and National Level be it any field. The supporters and well-wishers have assured of necessary help in this matter, the gathering expressed the need of such extra-curricular activities as they felt that such extra-curricular activities helps them to achieve complete success. They will also approach the state government for support, it was added.
Former panchayat member and resident of the area, Hari Gurung mentioned that in order to encourage children in spiritual and religious fields along with the need for moral education has resulted in the initiation of Sunday class. The meeting was also attended by panchayat members along with all residents of Perbing Dovan.
