ASGDGEA hands over prizes to raffle winners

GANGTOK, 31 Oct: The winners of the raffle draw of the All Sikkim Group D Government Employees Association [ASGDGEA], which was held on 27 October were handed over their prizes at a special function held here at Hotel Mayur today.
The first prize, a Chevrolet Enjoy [Ltz] was won by KK Deokota, a retired Divisional Engineer, resident of Sichey, Gangtok, while the second prize, a Maruti Alto 800 [Lxi] was bagged by a monk - Thendup Kazi Lama, from Sumick Aritar in East Sikkim. The third prize, a Bajaj Pulsar bike has not yet been claimed. The five consolation prizes [HP Laptops] were won by Tshering Sherpa and Pushpa Lal Neopaney. Three of the consolation prizes are yet to be claimed.
In his short speech, MB Gurung [president, ASGDGEA] congratulated the winners and said, “We are holding this programme today to show that there is transparency in the raffle draw held by the association and it has been held in a fair manner”.
“We shall also be donating a small amount of the money raised towards Gumpas, Mandirs and the Churches as a goodwill gesture”, he said and added that a total of 30,000 tickets had been printed and sold by the association.
The short programme was also addressed by the raffle winners.
