CRH hosts daylong CME on trauma management

GANGTOK, 25 Nov: The Department of Neurosurgery at the Central Referral Hospital on Sunday organised a daylong “Continued Medical Education” session targeted to review the recent trends in managing trauma. This, in view of the inception of  super-speciality wing at CRH, a press release informs.
Dr Sanjeev Bhoi, Additional Medical Superintendent, Additional Professor, AIIMS, and Dr Kapil Dev Soni, Assistant Professor JPN Trauma Centre, AIIMS, were special guests who addressed the CME which included more speakers drawn from various specialities delivering Lectures on their respective fields and aiming at “managing the patient” in the “Golden Hour”, that is the first hour after trauma. Special mention was made for management of the trauma specific to the terrain of Sikkim and the road conditions.
The CME had an attendance of 169 delegates from STNM Hospital, CRH, ITBP, BRO, ESI and other private practitioners from in and around the capital, the release states. Dr. Yogesh Verma, Principal Director and Medical Superintendent STNM Hospital was present as chief guest.
The daylong session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rohan Sinha, Consultant Neuro Surgeon, CRH Secretary Organising Committee for the event.
