Final Darshan


The weeklong exposition of Maitreya Heart Shrine Relics tour in Sikkim and blessing ceremony being held at Tsuklakhang monastery concluded Sunday with offering of prayers. Over 3,800 devotees from all over the State, neighbouring Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mirik, Bhutan and Nepal attended today’s function. Through the week, over 23,000 devotees took darshan of the relics of Sakyamuni Buddha and other Buddhist masters. The relics had arrived in Sikkim on 19 November and opened to the public from 24 Nov to 01 December. The coordinator, Relics Exposition Committee, Pema Ongmu Denzongpa, who also represents ‘Karmapa Australia’, informs that the relics will be taken to Rumtek Monastery on Monday where prayers will be offered. The relics will be taken to New Delhi on Tuesday from where they will be taken to the United Kingdom.
