Counseling on mental health at Kyongsa Girls School

GANGTOK, 09 Apr: An interactive cum counseling program "Enhance your study skills" was organized by Gyalshing District Hospital at Girls Senior Secondary School, Kyongsa for the students of class IX to XII on 06 April.
A press release informs that the objective of the program was to spread awareness on mental health. The main resource person of the day were Dr Satish Rasaily (Mental Health cum Addiction Medicine specialist), Dr Ankur Darol Rai, Dr Shounu Silal and Dr Pratik Rasaily from Gyalshing District Hospital.
One on one interaction with the students was held where they were asked to share their problems and fears related to exams. During the program, students were apprised about some life skills like academic reading, improving concentration and memory, dealing with exam stress, enhancing motivation, setting goals, dealing with procrastination, autosuggestion to enhance self-confidence and self-esteem, time management, perseverance, and stress management techniques.

Later Dr Pratik Rasaily conducted a career counseling session highlighting opportunities in various professions.
