Scrutiny of documents on poll day goes off smoothly in South

NAMCHI, 14 Apr [IPR]: As informed by the RO South, Prabhakar Verma, the scrutiny of the documents of the Poll Day went about in a smooth and uninterrupted manner.
The entire procedure of the scrutiny of the documents was carried out in the presence of the General Observer, Dr R Selvaraj, General Observer South/ West (Parliamentary Constituency), G Ashok Kumar, and candidates/ election agents and representatives of all Political Parties on 13 April. The procedure was also videographed in order to avoid any discrepancies in the later stages during the counting of the votes for Parliamentary & Assembly Constituencies and Sangha.
Mr Verma further informed that the Strong Room will be watched over 24X7 vigilantly and that one person of each political party maybe deputed to guard the Strong Room. The staying arrangements has been made with CCTV monitor for the political parties. In addition there will be a large number of security personnel deployed in the Strong Room premise which is also scrutinized by CCTV device 24X7.

RO gave a tour of the Strong Room premise to the candidates, their agents and the representatives of all the political parties present and they were also shown the inside of the storage room, the surveillance room with the CCTV monitor and they were briefed about all the security measures and other formalities taken up by the administration till the counting day which is on 16 May 2014.
