Manjushri School team visits Sakyong Chisopani JHS

SINGTAM, 28 May: Fifth grade students along with two escort teachers from Manjushri Public School, Temi, South Sikkim visited Sakyong Chisopani JHS, East Sikkim on 27 May. The group visited the exhibition of models and activity works displayed by the students of Sakyong Chisopani JHS.
Displayed materials included those made of waste materials mostly waste paper, plastic bottles, match box and others. The major highlight of the event was the activities on rain water harvesting. Exhibition of stamps and bank notes was also held on the occasion.
There were 48 students from two sections of Class V from Manjushri Public School that visited Sakyong Chisopani JHS. The students of both schools had interacted with each other. Manjushri Public School sang a Japanese song to which Sakyong Chisopani JHS students sang ‘Jaha Bagcha Tista-Rangit’ for their friends.
A friendly football match was also played. Songs and dances were also performed by students of the two schools. The students of Manjushri Public School shared their experiences and they appreciated the efforts of the students of the host school in using waste materials. They also said that they would like to replicate such activities.
Headmaster of Sakyong Chisopani JHS, Mahesh Dahal appreciated the discipline and eagerness to learn of the students of Manjushri Public School. “We are happy that the school from far south visited us. The visit has benefited the students of both schools”, he added.
Teachers from Manjushri Public School, Yozna Gurung and Kittu Rai said it was heartwarming to see students coming together to share their knowledge. “We are really grateful to Chisopani JHS for welcoming us to their school and sharing their art of recycle, reuse and rain water harvesting”, they added.
