Burtuk JHS wins Engage Quiz 2014 PUNOL LEPCHA

GANGTOK, 01 June: Burtuk Junior High School has emerged the winner of the Engage Quiz 2014 held at Sikkim Government College Tadong on Saturday. North Point School stood on the second position while Anne’s School was on the third position.
Samjhana Mangar and Anjana Tamang of class V of Burtuk JHS set a benchmark for all the government schools by winning the Engage Quiz beating other private schools.
It is informed that the quiz on solid waste management for school students, was first of its kind. 16 Junior High Schools within the jurisdiction of the Gangtok Municipal Corporation had participated in the competition.
Out of 16 schools, six made it to the final round of the quiz. The finalists were Annes School, Manjushree, Burtuk Junior High School, Joy Bells and Lingding Junior High School.
ENGAGE 14 is an initiative of the Gangtok Municipal Corporation to sensitize school students on the various aspects of Solid Waste Management and inspire them to reduce, reuse and recycle. The event was powered by 24hours Inspired.
