Minister visits DHH, sets course for improvements

GANGTOK, 02 June: The series of coordination meetings between the new Ministers and their current portfolios continues. Today, Ugen T. Gyatso Bhutia, the Minister for Commerce & Industries, made his first visit to the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom here at Zero Point.
The Minister was accompanied by the Department Secretary and was received by the DHH Director Ganga D. Pradhan along with all the senior officers, staff and instructors of the Directorate.
An official press communiqué informs that during his interaction with the officers, the Minister stressed on up-gradation, commercialization and modernization of tools and equipment, use of fine raw materials for quality products and value addition.
He assured every possible help and cooperation from the Government for DHH in its pursuit of livelihood creation and taking forward the department to the next higher level of achievement and success, the release adds.
