Shamar Rinpoche’s Kudung to arrive in New Delhi on Friday

GANGTOK, 17 June: Shamar Rinpoche’s “Kudung” [mortal remains] will be brought to New Delhi on the evening of 20 June. The Guru Yoga puja ceremony together with vast offerings will be conducted on the day.
This was announced by Private Secretary to Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, Rabiam Rikki Catty on 14 June on www.karmapa.org.
The Rinpoche’s kudung will be kept at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute [KIBI], New Delhi for around a week. After this it will be brought to Kalimpong to the Rinpoche’s institute there for further prayers and possibly the funeral.
Devotees can pay their respects to the Rinpoche’s mortal remains and participate in the prayer ceremonies at KIBI from 20 to 27 June, it is stated.
It may be mentioned that Shamar Rinpoche had passed away on 11 June in Germany. He was one of the most prominent spiritual figures of Tibetan Buddhism and one of the most influential personality from the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
