Sikkim’s Muslim Women’s assc organizes diabetes detection camp at Khamdong

GANGTOK, 27 June: The All Sikkim Muslim Women’s Welfare Association conducted a Free Diabetics Detection and General Medical Camp at Khamdong here in East Sikkim today.
A total of 210 people of from Khamdong attended the camp wich was organized in coordination with the Kin Advance Diabetes and Wellness Clinic of Siliguri and Dr. AH Khan (Remicare Private Clinic) of Singtam.
Subash Shah, diabetic educator at Kin Advance Diabetes and Wellness Clinic, explained diabetes to the people. Out of the 210 people who checked in for the camp, 43 were detected as diabetic symptoms.

The camp had Zilla Panchayat Beena Lamichaney as chief guest accompanied by panchayats Bishnu Maya, Karma Wangdup Bhutia and Jeewan Lamichaney of Khamdong and youth convenor Tenzing Sherpa. ASMWWA’s organizing committee vice president Mehrunnisa, general secretary Noorjahan Begum, treasurer Mumtaz Begum and Parveen Khan and other members from Gangtok and Singtam took active part in the programme.
