Football clubs reiterate demands with SFA

GANGTOK, 20 July: The Football Club Association of Sikkim (FCAS) has reiterated its demand to Sikkim Football Association (SFA) seeking membership with voting rights for eight second-division and five first-division clubs of the State.
“We have also decided not to meet the SFA till it organizes a meeting with us. We have been demanding a meeting for a long time but it has not been organized,” said FCAS general secretary, Phurba Sherpa after a meeting of FCAS members today.
We have also been demanding that the first and second division clubs should be given membership with voting rights in the SFA as per its constitution, he stated. He has further requested the SFA that the Football House (near Paljor Stadium) is used or rented out only for football purposes and one room is given to the FCAS, he said.
Until our demands are fulfilled, clubs in Sikkim are boycotting all leagues organized by the SFA, said the FCAS general secretary.
“During the meeting, we requested the SFA members to return as soon as possible the loan amounts they have taken from their association. We request the SFA not to give further personal loans to their members. The SFA should not use its funds for giving loans as the funds are meant for development of football in Sikkim,” said Mr. Sherpa.
