MGNREGA Social Audit held for Mamley Kamrang GPU

 GANGTOK, 06 July: MGNREGA Social Audit Jansunwai of Mamley Kamrang  GPU was held at Mamley Kamrang GPK, South Sikkim on 04 July.  Gram Sabha was  conducted for the Completed/Ongoing  MGNREGA works implemented during the financial year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-2014.
A press release informs that audit was conducted for Land development work of 53 houses, two Jhora Training, one Protective Wall, one Source Development, three Construction of village road, two Land Terracing, four JTW Works, one CCFP works and one Land development works at school road. Total Sanctioned Amount of the Audited Scheme was Rs 2,37,56,936. Audited Amount of the total audited scheme was Rs. 1,64,12,027.
There were altogether 18 MGNREGA works, of which nine works were completed and another nine works are ongoing. Out of nine completed works 53 works are land development work but it has been marked as one work.
Some of the issues raised that raised during the Gram Sabha were missing written record of worksite visit by vigilance committee and Panchayat, citizen information board of 7 out of 18 works not found, protective disclosure of information/ wall writing at GP not found, the release mentions.
Besides MGNREGA, audit was also conducted for Indira Awaas Yojana/CMRHM. Among the 54 CMRHM works, 42 beneficiaries have completed their construction work and also received final installment, rest 12 works are ongoing in Mamley Kamrang  GPU. Out of 12 houses under construction, 3 houses of Upper Kamrang ward and 2 houses of Upper  Mamley ward are incomplete since the work has been given to a contractor on agreement basis but he left the construction midway and the concerned house owners have not been able to trace him.
