Turuk School wins U-14 category
GANGTOK, 12 Aug: The ongoing 5th MLA Challenge Cup of Melli Constituency being played at Melli Gumpa School playground witnessed two football matches and some cultural programmes from different schools of Melli Constituency today.
As per a press release, in the U-14 football final played between Turuk Secondary School and Begani Pry. School, the former team won in a tie-breaker. The U-14 Football tournament was organized in the memory of Late Laxmi Prasad and Man Maya Pradhan who are the parents of NB Pradhan of Melli Dara. The winning team won cash prize of Rs. 20,000 along with trophy while the runners' up won cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a trophy.
In the Senior Boys category semi final played between Tashi Choderling Gumpa and Rabitar FC, the former team won by 3 goals to 1. The final match of the tournament will be played between Melli Gumpa Sec School and Tashi Choderling Gumpa on 15 August, the release informs.
The chief guest for the day was Chairman of Scheduled Tribe Board, Prem Tsh. Lama. BDO Melli, Dinesh Pradhan, Zilla Panchayats and Panchayat members were also present as special guests in today’s programme.
