Artists pay homage to RK Rai on death anniv

GANGTOK, 18 Aug: Performing artists of the State gathered here yesterday to pay homage to the craft and memory of talented artist RK Rai on his death anniversary. The gathered peers and juniors remembered the late RK Rai as a consummate artist and a gentle soul.
The memorial was attended by Ranjit Gazmer, Chunilal Ghimirey, Hemant Giri, Amar Baniya, Joseph Lepcha, Timothy Rai, Deepak Dhakal, Purandeep Sharma along with other artists.
In a press release, Hemant Giri adds that the gathered artists remembered the late RK Rai as not only an artist but also a responsible leader of the fraternity who set new standards for the performing arts in Sikkim.
His role and contributions will be remembered for a long, the release adds.
While addressing the memorial service, Ranjit Singh, a noted artist himself, remembered the late RK Rai as a gentle, honest, dedicated and responsible human being who initiated a new era of the performing arts in Sikkim.
