Awareness programme for tourism stakeholders of Dzongu and Mangan

GANGTOK, 25 Aug: The Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim organized an Awareness & Sensitization programme for the Tourism stakeholders of Dzongu and Mangan region, North Sikkim on 22 August.
The programme was attended by PW Lepcha [SDM Mangan] as the chief guest and attended by the Councillors of Mangan Nagar Panchayat and President and members of Mangan Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
A press release informs that tourism stakeholders of Dzongu, Thingchim, Singhik and Ringhim areas of North Sikkim participated in the programme. The resource persons for the programmes were Freelance motivator, Manil Raj Rai, vice president Travel Agents Association of Sikkim, Tsering Dorjee and president Sikkim Hotels and Restaurants Association Pema Lamtha and ST Norbu.
The programme began with an interactive session between Mangan Tourism Development Corporation members, stakeholders and the representatives of Tourism and Civil Aviation Department wherein active discussions were held on issues such as feasibility of paragliding sport in Mangan and Dzongu, Reconnaissance and opening of new trekking routes, etc.
The main subjects covered in the programme were Ecotourism, Adventure, Home Stay Marketing and Tourist friendly approach, the release adds.
