NHPC constructs playground for Lingdong Secondary School

GANGTOK, 19 Aug: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility-Sustainable Development initiative, NHPC Teesta-IV Hydroelectric Project has constructed a playground at Lingdong Secondary School, Dzongu in North Sikkim.
A press release informs that the school playground was handed over to the School Management Committee and Panchayat of Lingdong during the Independence Day celebrations at Lingdong which were incidentally hosted on this new ground. The Late Sonam Choda Memorial Challenge Cup was also played in this new school ground.
The ground was inaugurated by Chairman, Primitive Tribe Welfare Board, Sonam Dupden Lepcha, in the presence of Chief Engineer (Civil), NHPC Ltd (Teesta-IV Project), DK Jain, Panchayat members, School Management Committee & senior officers from NHPC Ltd. Local people of Lingdong village were also present in large numbers to witness the event.
Sonam Dupden Lepcha in his address appreciated the efforts of NHPC Teesta-IV Project in taking up such projects in addition to its other initiatives under CSR-SD for North Sikkim. DK Jain in his address thanked the people of North Sikkim for their continuing support to NHPC.
