SIMFED concludes second round ward-level farmers training in North Sikkim

GANGTOK, 11 Aug: The 2nd Round Ward Level Farmer Training was held at SIMFED’s ICS area, North Sikkim in the Menrongong, Phensong and Kabi Tingda Gram Panchayat Units, by SIMFED, a press release informs. The federation is working under the Sikkim Organic Mission in establishing Internal Control System for Organic farming and Certification in these Gram Panchayat Units.
The topics covered in the course were principles and practices of plant protection in organic farming system; and preparation of various formulations locally for insect pests and disease management.
Demonstrations were held and the training included the screening of videos on organic farming.

A total of nineteen wards were covered and the training also saw the attendance of the concerned line department officials, respective Ward Panchayats along with all concerned SIMFED ICS field functionaries and officials.
