This is the occasion when nature in its varied forms is worshipped and celebrated in Sikkim. The Sikkimese Lepchas paying homage and worshipping the sacred Tendong Hill as ‘Mayel Lyang’ or heaven, gives us the perfect insight into the Sikkimese tradition of revering, preserving and protecting mother nature since ancient times.
On this occasion, let us rededicate ourselves to strengthen our tradition of protecting and enriching our invaluable wealth of natural heritage.”
